Judges Certification & Calibration 2020

This is for entry to the 2020 season UKBC Judges Certification and Calibration event.

When: Sunday 19th January - Monday 20th January

Where: Campus @ Union Hand Roasted

Who: All judges who wish to judge in the 2020 UKBC & Coffee Championships or start their introduction into judging competitions. If you have not judged before we are looking at continuing to grow the high calibre of UK Judges that we have in our pool and are looking for people with SCA Qualifications at Intermediate level or above, Q Grader Qualification or are a recognised coffee professional within their day to day work.


Day 1: For all Judges Old & New.

- Vision & Mission of WCE
- Sensory Tests (Taste Solutions, Aroma, and coffee tasting)
- Technical Tests (Milk and Coffee Waste Identification)
- Rules Review with WCE REP and preparation for Judging on day 2
- Initial Judging Set

Day 2: For all Judges Old & New.

- Judging Sets for all Judges
- Coaching and Feedback
- Delivering Feedback to competitors

Time: Both days will start at 10:00 and aim to finish at 17:30 

Lunch will be provided on both days.

Attending doesn’t guarantee to pass and being able to judge in the 2020 season, the observations from judging over the 2 days, Written and Practical Test results will be collated after the 2 days and results sent through to confirm eligibility.

*Refunds are not available if you do not pass the certification and/or calibration. 

*All judges must hold a valid SCA membership when they judge.
