World of Coffee Budapest 2017

Last week, Budapest saw host to the World of Coffee 2017. A three day event coffee professionals, enthusiasts and competitors alike all mark in their calendars. Four UK champions descended upon the city, soaked up the sun, good food and sights, here's how they got on.  Dave Cullen of Clifton Coffee - UK Brewers Cup champion 2017. It was Dave's first time in any competition and achieved 18th place in the World Brewers cup - with an almost perfect (9.5/10) workflow score. UKBC Leaderboard - 3 down,1 to go.

This weekend saw the third of our regional UKBC heats held at Ancoats Coffee in Manchester. Their roastery is a short walk from the MEN Arena, the scene of such sadness last night. Manchester's coffee scene has always been open and welcoming and our thoughts are with them. The heat though was a great success, with three returning competitors topping the days standing. Kieran Carney, Dale Harris and Derek Buckley finsihed, first through third respectively. Brewers Cup Final Results and UKBC Leaderboard!

Last weekends Glasgow Coffee Festival hosted both the 2017 UK Brewers Cup Final and the regional UKBC heat, which made it quite a hectic few days. The Brewers Cup was held over both days echoing the Worlds finals format. Each competitor brewed the compulsory and their open choice of coffee on the Saturday, with the top 6 scores progressing to Sundays final. They then brewed their Open choice coffee once more, with the final judging taking into account all three scores. Once all of the scores were counted the win went to David Cullen from Clifton Coffee in Bristol!
