UK Coffee Events Update – some events are almost full

The introduction of online registration has proven itself to be hugely successful so far. We have almost filled a number of UK Coffee Events categories for 2013!

To make sure you don’t miss out on a place please register online at www.ukcoffeeevents.com

As at 2pm today we have the following spaces remaining:

  • UK Latte Art Championship – 3 spaces remaining
  • UK Brewers Cup – 3 spaces remaining
  • UK Cezve / Ibrik – 6 spaces remaining
  • UK Coffee in Good Spirits – 11 spaces remaining
  • UK Cup Tasters – 13 spaces remaining

There are currently places available at all UK Barista Championships Regional Heats in Exeter, Newcastle, Bury St Edmunds and Chester.

Volunteer and Judges Registration is also being managed online.

Northern Judges Course Announcement

News just in:  Pumphreys Coffee will be hosting a UK Coffee Events Judges Course on 16 and 17 Jan 2013 in Newcastle

The format will replicate the Judges Course being held at Masteroast on 7th and 8th  January.

Anyone wishing to certify as a UK Coffee Events Judge is invited to register their interest by emailing Jamie Banwell jamie@scaeuk.com

All judges will be expected to calibrate at the end of January / early February prior to the regional heats starting. Dates and venues to be announced shortly.

Pumphreys Coffee is also the Host for Regional Heat 2 of the Uk Barista Championships taking place on 15th and 16th February 2013.

UK Coffee Events Regional Heat 2 Announcement

UK Coffee Events is pleased to announce Pumphrey’s Coffee as the host for Regional Heat 2 of the 2013 UK Barista Championships.

Following a successful regional heat in 2012, the dates have been set for 15th – 16th February 2013, at Life Science Centre, Times Square, Newcastle upon Tyne,Tyne&Wear,NE1 4EP.

Roaster, Trainer and Head Barista at Pumphrey’s Coffee, Stuart Lee Archer said “We at Pumphrey’s Coffee are once again proud to host the regional UKBC heat. We developed such a buzz last year that the regional standard of coffee quality and service dramatically improved. We can’t wait to see what happens after this year’s event.“

Pumphrey’s Coffee has 3 Sanremo Verona TCS competition spec machines and invites local baristas entering the UK Barista Championships to contact them to arrange practice times.

Registration for 2013 UK Barista Championship competitors will be managed online this year. Entry has been set at £25 and registration will be via a link placed on www.ukcoffeeevents.co.uk

Lynsey Harley, SCAE UK National Coordinator said “We are pleased that Pumphrey’s has stepped forward to host a regional heat as we received brilliant feedback from all competitors and visitors to their heat last year. The North East region is producing some great baristas and they’re actively helping make coffee accessible to the public.“

The top scoring baristas from the regional heats will go through to the finals, which will be held at The London Coffee Festival (25th – 28th  April 2013), and one of them will be crowned UK Barista Champion 2013 and go on to compete in the World Barista Championship in Melbourne, Australia (23rd – 26th  May 2013).

Pumphrey’s Coffee to host the UKBC 2012 Northern Heat

The UKBC heads to Newcastle on Friday 17th February 2012

Pumphrey’s Coffee has stepped forward to host the Northern Heat in 2012, at the Life Science Centre, Times Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear, NE1 4EP

We have been advised parking is available nearby, and for those arriving by train  the venue is just up the street from Newcastle Central Station
