Established for almost 50 years, Sanremo s.r.l. is still a family owned company that is driven by design, innovation and a love for great coffee, but retains the integrity of its Artisan past, still building each and every machine meticulously by hand.
Sanremo UK Ltd was established in 2006 and is a sole distributor of Sanremo in the UK. Our success to date has been driven by the exceptional selection of machines Sanremo produce and our team of dedicated individuals, all passionate about espresso machines and espresso coffee are focused on making a difference to every one of our clients’ business success.
UK Barista Championship (official Machine Sponsor)
Sanremo sponsorship of the UKBC started back in 2009. The UK competition circuit is one of the most vibrant in the world. We not only wanted to learn from the UK’s top Baristas, but saw the Championship as a fantastic opportunity to launch and test the performance of Sanremo’s temperature control system (TCS). The results were so good that the head judge on the first day of competition commented that the difference in consistency of crema and extraction in the competition espressos was significant.
Indeed the competition has since changed significantly and, rather than argue over whether the temperature was within the WBC specified 90-96°C range during performances, Baristas now debate whether the temperature should be set at 92, 93 or 93.5°C!
We have also had some great feedback on the performance and special functions featured on the Sanremo Verona and Roma, such as the espresso timer, steam wand performance, self-cleaning functions etc., and just how nice the machines are to work on. For example, 95% of competition baristas rated solid build of Sanremo machines as very good or excellent.
“The Competition circuit is a bit like the University of Coffee. Baristas, roasters and equipment suppliers are pushing back the boundaries of coffee and influencing what we see and expect in our coffee cups in the years ahead. If you get a buzz from coffee, it is a great place to be!” says Andrew Tucker, Managing Director of Sanremo UK.
