On Monday 29th October, Dan Fellows and Liina Nutman fly out to Korea to compete in the World Coffee in Good Spitirts and World Latte Art Championships.

They will be assisted by Sang Ho Park who will be acting as guide and translator throughout their stay.

Dan Fellows won the 2012 UK Coffee in Good Spirits competition and has spent the past few months practicing his routine in York, where he is now based. We have seen some of his build up on Twitter (@danfellows1). Recent rule changes have led to his drinks being tweaked to take into account the new WCE spirits sponsor – Grand Marnier. We’re sure those who have been helping Dan evaluate his drinks and routine have not minded this at all.

Liina Nutman placed 3rd in the UK Latte Art Championships earlier this year and only found out this week that she was headed to Korea, after circumstances beyond reigning champion Peter Attridge’s control meant he was unable to travel.

After hearing that she had the chance to head to Korea, Liina said “I feel very very lucky and proud to be able to represent the country I live in. I’m extremely excited however, a little nervous coming up with the design the world hasn’t seen before… No pressure.”

Liina, training manager for Coffee#1 in Wales, went on to say “I have got to remain super focused and battle my nerves. Just imagine as if you have to walk the high wire with the knowledge you have just won the lottery jackpot! That’s how I feel. But I know I have all the support from my family and work colleagues. I would like to thank Coffee #1 for supporting me and helping me to develop my skills and knowledge that’s got me this far. ”
