The SCAE UK Chapter would like to congratulate 2009 World Barista Champion Gwilym Davies on his appointment to the SCAE Board.

Reflecting on his appointment, Gwilym said “I am pleased to be given the opportunity to join SCAE and to represent baristas and retail owners at the Board level. There are so many opportunities ahead to make speciality coffee grow further in Europe and baristas will definitely have a primary role in this process”

Gwilym and his team at Prufrock Coffee in Leather Lane, London, have already pledged their commitment to the development of baristas by generously donating part of the London BRAT for UKBC training. The team at Sanremo are working with them to install a competition spec Sanremo Verona TCS in the coming months. Watch this space for practice times and booking details.
